Well rebuilt and restored matching numbers old-school boxer-twin.

This bike was totally rebuilt about three years ago by a friend who knows what he’s doing with these old Beemers. The engine is modified with the rear crank now supported by a self-centering trunnion bearing (as R69S) so the crank doesn’t suffer from vibration as the original could, leading to catastrophic failure. Other sensible and sympathetic engineering modifications have been incorporated in the engine build which is of the highest quality, the whole restoration is captured in pictures provided on a CD with the bike. Electrics are original 6v with solid-state regulator/rectifier and indicators have been added, along with mirrors for practicality and safety. The bike has only covered about 900 miles since the rebuild and hence the reason for selling – it just wasn’t being used enough with other projects and bikes in the garage. All the numbers are matching and the document file includes old Buff Log Book (RF60), V5 and V5C registration documents which confirm it was first registered new in the UK in 1963, which makes it very rare. Pretty much everything has been replaced, refurbished, painted or plated and the result is quite superb. Pracitcal for the road too.
