There is lots of good news to talk about on this machine: original Deluxe spec and it’s all working, the beautiful lines and classic black/chrome finish. The bad news is that the engine is tired so at this price you’re looking at doing an engine rebuild or asking us to do one for you, which is no problem but budget for about £1,500. We’ve had it running so we know nothing is broken but sparks are scarce and oil pressure and compression is low so the mag will need rebuilding and top and bottom end of the engine too. Hence no video. The rest is mixed; paintwork is ok with a nice patina but the pinstripes are stick-ons (we would just remove them and have the older paintwork and the rims painted with new lines) or you can go both ways either side and leave as-is or completely restore. The rear rim is original Dunlop, the front a replacement presumably done when it was restored many years ago. Classic Bike Workshop have replaced the wiring loom and made the electrics good, re-plumbed the in-tank instruments including the oil pressure gaugue and lights and generally tidied the bike up. Front forks feel good after a bit of fettling and looking the way it does there is lots to like about this bike. Pretty sure it’s matching numbers but they’re not actually the same numbers on machines of this age so we’ll ask our friends at the TOMCC to provice a letter confirming provenance. It’s come in from Sweden, where it’s been displayed in a collection by the looks of the front number plate. UK registration is a formality and the new owner will be the first UK registered keeper.
