Matching numbers perfectly correct best-years Bonneville in fine fettle.

This is a truly excellent example of Triumph’s truly excellent T120 650cc twin Bonneville. ’68 and ’69 are arguably the best years of production and if this example is anything to go by who would argue? The R is the USA model and so well proportioned with the tear-drop tank and classic Triumph handlebars. Matching numbers of course, UK registered since 1997 and only two former keepers on the V5C. Last two owners; both known to CSB; have cherished the bike over ten years of very responsible ownership. The bike comes from a lovely collection of machines that are used regularly and maintained properly so they work as well as they look. Lots of original parts, still running on points with the original wiring and electrics which is quite rare nowadays. Recently serviced and just had a full going-over at Classic Bike Workshop where the ignition timing has been strobed and set perfectly after checking valve clearances and before cleaning, tuning and balancing the carburettors. You can hear the results. Conditon is more than excellent, only let down by the odd blemish on the paintwork, which isn’t new and has developed an attractive patina. Mostly original parts by the looks of it, new wheel rims are an exception and the horns were possibly wind-tones from new but it’s impossible to tell on models of this era without photographic evidence. Looks gorgeous, starts easily and idles smoothly, performs effortlessly without smoke or noise.
