Ducati 916 SPS

The plaque on the top yoke confirms this is number 135 of a very limited production run of 404 (4 in 1996) of the 916 SPS. There was a major update to the Sport Production series for 1997; the 916 SPS still carrying the "916" title but featuring the 996cc engine with new crankcases for World Superbike homologation. This model also had bigger inlet valves, larger exhaust ports, lighter crankshaft, higher primary gear ratio and 50mm exhaust header pipes. This is a great bike to own because the next year's SPS was the same bike but with the later minimalist decals which detract from the original classic 916 look. This has been my personal bike, she has 12k miles on the clock and recently had £2,000 engine and chassis service with reputable Ducati main agents Moto Rapido. The bike has had a frame change at some time, but all the numbers are correct and the original manuals, documents and keys are present.
