Norton ES2
Norton’s big 500cc single makes an impression wherever you go. One for the road rather than show.
This is not a matching numbers machine. There is a good history file which includes old MOT certificates and tax discs, and a dating letter from the Norton Owners Club confirming that the engine number is from 1953 and the frame number is from 1955. Lots of bills for parts dating from the mid 1990s suggest this was when the bike was completely rebuilt to it’s current specification. Condition is no better than average and while the original mudguards have been lost in the rebuild it’s nice to see the original Dunlop rims have survived in good condition, albeit painted silver. The engine starts reliably, idles well and pulls strongly without undue smoke or noise.
