A 1952 Black Shadow with excellent provenance and enviable documented ownership history, presented in beautiful restored condition to standard specification in most respects. All numbers matching and original registration with old RF60 Log Book and V5C confirming everything is correct. This beautiful machine hasn’t been used for many years but comes with a fascinating hand-written service and road trip history by a well known honorary member of the Vincent Owners Club; this was his bike, then his son’s and the one owner since is also well known in Vincent circles for his attention to detail and technical knowledge. The gentleman referred to is no longer with us and I won’t name him here but if you know Vincents you will know his name with respect and affection. He took it all over the world as so many knowledgable owners do. The engine is known to have been rebuilt recently in terms of mileage and the 2012/13 restoration prepared the machine for storage in a significant collection of historic motorcycles, so fluids were drained and there is no fuel contamination to deal with. And no hydraulics of course! The few deviations from standard include high performance rear springs, electronic ignition and generator and a rather practical addition of a Kawasaki side stand. Not that you would know, all the original stands are there and work perfectly but you’ll use that brilliant side stand. There are other nice touches all over and one blemish; a cosmetic repair to a little ding on the fuel tank. Let’s call it patina shall we? Lots of nice little touches too, like the early Owners Club badge, the number plate and the unusual and supposedly desirable oil cap which mistakenly reads WINTFR instead of WINTER. Little things..devil’s in the detail and this one has it in spades. Classic Bike Workshop will do all the checks and return it to the road if you so wish but as it stands it will display inside the house with your other works of art.
