Berini Autocycle
Sounds Italian but it is Dutch! We’re honestly not sure what year or model this is but with an engine over the front wheel, we know the Berini M13 was built in Rotterdam from 1949 to 1961. As it was developed from the Cyclemaster, engine size was initially 26cc, increased to 32cc in 1951 (the M14). In the Netherlands, it was known as “the Egg” because of the shape of the fueltank (designed by welding two headlamps together from a DKW motorcycle). The Berini was the most popular Dutch bicycle engine and could reach up to 30 km/h. Clearly registered in the UK but sadly with no paperwork, the engine numbers may be a clue to size and year of manufacture but we just got it running and left it on show so now sold as seen needing recommissioning and will want registering if it is to be put on the road again.
