One of the best MZs available (the other is also for sale here).

The condition and specification of this humble 250cc two-stroke single is above and beyond anything you would expect to find in a machine with a reputation as a commuter work-horse. All down to the obsessive attention to detail of the previous owner who has created a quality feel to what is undoubtably a quality; if notoriously unremarkable; motorcycle. These are great fun to ride and provide the biggest two-stroke bang for your buck of any classic two-stroke. There is an almost endless list of extras and improvements including TS150 rear rims on the front wheel, laced with stainless spokes, to allow fitment of 90/90 tyres giving a good choice of performance tyres unavailable with the skinny standard rim. It’s what the MZ racer do aparrently. Hagon shocks on the back and progressive fork springs at the front, new brake pads, Mobil oil and fluids just changed and Putoline fully synthetic 2 stroke oil used. Motobatt battery fitted, recent Avon Roadrider tyres and heavy duty Michelin tubes. This one has a Powerdynamo magneto fitted so it doesn’t need the battery to run. Three former keepers and 25,313 miles on the clock. A collection of old MOTs and some invoices, it doesn’t get much better than this in MZ land.
