A UK (South Shields) supplied 500/4 in arguably the best colour, really well restored over many years and offered in standard specification except for the Koni rear shocks and the period “Yohsi” four-into-one exhaust. This bike can be supplied with a standard genuine Honda four-into-four exhaust system for an additional £1,000 if requested. This is a matching numbers machine as evidenced by the very close frame and engine numbers and whilst there isn’t a lot of documented history the ownership history over many years is well known to us and can be verified verbally by a previous long-term owner from South Shields. Old and new log books confirm it’s on the original registration number and a collection of old tax discs and an old MOT certificate go along with a period 1974 South Shields tax disc which will look nice displayed in a chrome tax disc holder. It is in fine mechanical fettle having had a recent top-end engine rebuild and recent service attention which included valve clearances, ignition timing and carburettor cleaning, setting and balancing. Lots of new parts and even more original parts survive to tell the story of a charmed life. Running on new tyres and wanting for nothing, this superb example of what Honda advertised as their “Balanced Machine” shows just how good they were in the day. Starts immediately on the kick-start or button, idles perfectly and performs very well on the road, even the brakes feeling possibly a little better than you might remember them. Or maybe not! A very pretty bike in fine fettle.
