This matching numbers Manx Norton was rebuilt in 1978/79 by Ray Petty and fitted with one of his 5-speed PGT gearboxes, his enclosed valve spring conversion and a number of Petty modifications all detailed in invoices and correspondence on file. There is a good documented history with this machine covering its post-racing years and it’s only had two owners since 1989. A mutli award winner in shows and parades, it hasn’t been used in anger since the Ray Petty rebuild as far as we can tell. This bike featured on the front cover of Car & Bike Classic magazine. Dripping in rare magnesium race parts and Dunlop alloy rims it really is a thing of originality and genuine racing heritage. Road registered and the fuel tank is clearly signed by Geoff Duke (protected with a vinyl cover) sitting astride the bike. Yes it is road registered and no there are no baffles! Can’t wait to have this one recommissioned, or alternatively we could prepare it for display in your favourite room. Unused for almost 20 years it will need recommissioning and that job is on the list but it could go either way depending on what the next owner has in mind. If that’s you please call Chris on 07809 894777 to discuss.
