Moto Guzzi GT Special
A really cool and practical take on Guzzi’s fabulously competent 1000cc Grand Tourer. The trouble with the late ’80s Mille GT was only the way it looked, to most eyes at least. This personal retro creation has banished the 80s/90s looks to the parts bin and harks back to the earlier beauty of models a decade or more in the past. It’s been a labour of love (and lots and lots of money) over 20 years of ownership and the result is very satisfying; not only to look at but to ride too. The transformation is well recorded in a fat document file and this machine has an incredible service record with marque specialists Moto Corsa. The most recent invoice was for a full front end rebuild with Maxton fork conversion costing over £1,800. I haven’t added it all up but the previous owner tells me he’s spent £15,000 in his ownership so no wonder it performs as well as it looks. This is a quality conversion; make no mistake about it; not to be confused with some mickey-mouse tank/seat makeover. Some nice Guzzi extras too, like the California side stand which is so much better than the original equipment and makes life really easy.
