Laverda 3C
A superb Laverda triple featured in Dec. 2014 Classic Motorcycle Mechanics.
Classic Motorcycle Mechanics magazine liked it and so do we, but having cleaned it up nicely the weather has been so bad we have only just ridden it ourselves. And we agree; it’s lovely on the road; a little softer than the Jota but all the better for it on our busy roads and a joy to ride. The engine is mechanically quiet and smoke free, starting easily and idling well now the carb have been balanced and everything set up as it should be. The clutch is a little noisy so we’ll take a look in there and maybe look at improving the travel which has been reduced by the fitment of an extended actuating arm to give an easy feel at the handlebar. The twin leading shoe (TLS) rear (REAR) brake is to be treated with respect and looks lovely. The front stoppers are good and have some feel, the Raask rear set footrests give it a Jota look and feel and the alloy rims and general finish in red leave nothing to do on this superb example of Laverda’s great 180 triple. This is a really nice bike at really good money, rare and desirable without being too precious to ride. The original standard seat is with the bike; period Giuliari seat fitted as we would have done in the ’70s.
