Matchless G80 CS
A truly superb, well rebuilt and restored ’61 CS.
Correct in every respect, beautifully restored and rebuilt with care and skill. This US export machine was returned to the UK in 1996, restored and registered on an age related number in 1999. The AJS & Matchless Owners Club letters confirm this is a matching numbers 1961 competition machine and all the paperwork is present and correct including V5C and previous registration documents. Some nice notes from the restorer along with some pictures and invoices from when the work was done. Complete with a large document file including parts book and workshop manual, there are also some relevant classic motorcycle magazines collected by the two previous UK owners. A very rare and lovely machine; a pleasure to look at, listen to and ride. Running well on the GP carb as it was designed to do, starts easily with the right technique with a healthy compression, no smoke or undue mechanical noise other than the heavenly exhaust note.
